Accounting and the Web
There is a need for a web interface to an accounting package.
Think about someone on the road. They can enter in there expenses online.
Back up etc is centralised.
Think about a sales person. They can prepare estimates, take orders etc and have them executed there and then.

Call and Notice accounts
A call and notice account is an account that operates like a savings account. For a call account, you can get access to the money the same day. For a notice account, there will typically be a longer period of notice, such as seven days, or a month.
Payments in and out of the account are fixed cashflows and are straight forward.
However, the balance on the account should be modelled as a cashflow. It is very much like a generic cash flow in that the day on which it falls changes each day. We have a cashflow with a generic date offset from today with the notice period.

William E. McCarthy -- REA papers
William E. McCarthy -- REA papers: "This page contains most of the seminal and continuing research papers associated with the development of the REA (Resources-Events-Agents) model. The REA Enterprise Information Architecture covers the 'value chain' and 'supply chain' classes of enterprise system as noted in this classification. REA is described in its most basic form in this powerpoint presentation. A good overview with links to papers is my UTS seminar schedule from January 2004."
